For Families & Community Partners
Families play a critical role in student success, but schools/districts struggle to engage them. Families struggle navigating special education systems, school policies, and educational jargon that can be overwhelming. I bring deep experience in developing Special Education Local Advisory Committees (LAC/SEACs), helping families stay informed, empowered, and confident in advocating for their children.
I also offer interactive, easy-to-understand workshops designed to help parents confidently engage with schools, understand their rights, and support their child’s learning. Topics include:
Breaking Down the IEP: Understanding goals, accommodations, and progress monitoring
Making Sense of Student Data: How to interpret test scores, progress reports, and evaluation results
Due Process & Dispute Resolution: Knowing your rights in special education and how to navigate mediation, complaints, and hearings
Supporting Homework & Executive Functioning at Home: Strategies for organization, focus, and independent learning
Understanding Dyslexia, ADHD, and Learning Differences: How to advocate for evidence-based interventions
Parent Advocacy Skills: Communicating effectively with schools and being a strong voice in meetings
My workshops are practical, accessible, and tailored to the needs of your district’s families, ensuring that parents feel confident and equipped to support their child’s education.
